My favorite musicals are Avenue Q and Rent, based on that, do you know of any other musicals I’d really like?

I also really like Wicked and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I’m into sorta off-the-beat, quirky shows, I guess. But give me any suggestions you may have!

I love all those too!!! If your looking for movies check out Bye Bye Birdie, and Meet me In St Lewis. I worked on Rent for a while and as a group we went and saw Chicago and The Producers, Stomp is also really good.

I think that you would like “Runaways”, which came out in the late 70’s. Elizabeth Swados was the composer and I think it won a few Tonys. You’d probably also like “The Wiz” (get the original soundtrack with Stephanie Mills if you can) and “Hair” (original cast or the movie soundtrack, the latter of which has the best version of “Easy To Be Hard” imo). Swados also did a musical version of “The Secret Garden” which was quite popular.

How about:
-”Sweeney Todd” and “Into the Woods”
-”Tommy”
-”You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”

All have contemporary language and quirky characters, like those others you mentioned–and all are readily available on CD. Enjoy!

Gotta see “Little Shop of Horrors”!!! It’s one of my favorites, and it is definately an off-beat, quirky, laugh-riot!!!

You might also like “The Last Five Years” and “Songs for a New World”.

They are my two favourites as well. I reckon you would also like the Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown, and anything by Stephen Sonheim especially Into the Woods, Assassins and Sweeny Todd.
