The Bold Jim asked:

Howdy Peeps,

I’m surprising my girlfriend with a weekend break to London as she’s a huge theatre fan. I want to stay round about the Covent Garden / Bloomsbury area due to its great location.

Can anyone recommend a good hotel for around £100 - £120 per night?

I’d like a modern hotel if possible.

Cheers,

Jim

Try myhotel Bloomsbury (it’s listed on Expedia); a “five-floor boutique hotel”. Very modern, and effortlessly cool.

I work in Covent Garden. We often use The Strand Palace Hotel for cheaper stays.

It’s a bit faded but great value for such a central hotel, and all you really need it for is a place to sleep. Use the cash you save on the room to get your entertainment in the local area where there are plenty of great bars and restaurants.
